Have you kicked off your 2024 discussions with growers yet? As you look ahead, planning for the year will undoubtedly involve setting growth targets for your precision program. Whether you aim to enroll more acres, or intensify and frequent your soil sampling efforts, remember that a goal without a plan is just a wish. It’s crucial to have a clear strategy in place to turn these aspirations into measurable results.
The Value of a Strategic Plan
The old adage of “work smarter, not harder” is key to any successful strategic plan for growth. Coming off the tail-end of a busy fall is a great time to consider what that growth would mean to you and your team. Remember, Growth equals More Volume! A strategic plan allows you to take on more work without being ANY busier!
Avoid Growing Pains
What are some ways you can meet your growth goals in 2024 without all of the growing pains? Consider letting SoilView help you meet your goals AND ease some of the burden of a busy fall season.
Upgrade to SoilView’s Full Service Offering Getting a high-quality, repeatable soil sampling through SoilView is a great first step, but we can offer much more. Consider the time you and your team spend on tasks like submitting samples to the lab, shipping, and handling results data. Partnering with SoilView to manage the entire sampling event from field to FMIS can free up significant amount of time, allowing you to focus on growing your program.
Use Your SoilView ReTain List Imagine having almost all of your sampling orders placed before harvest even begins. Set aside a day in August or September to go through your resample list and prep those orders for sampling. If you spend the time then, you only need to spend a few moments releasing them during the busiest fall weeks. If you plan that day in your Summer calendar now, your SoilView Area Manager could even be able to join you and help go through them making it even easier!
Early In Crop Sampling It’s been said many times before, but the number one way to grow your Fall business is by shifting some sampling to the EIC sampling season. The people we know who are sampling 40%-50% of their fields in EIC are the ones best positioned to grow in 2024. By the time fall comes half of their sampling, fall fertilizer recs, and grower planning sessions are already done! So often your new sales come in fall when growers are thinking about it, not before. Have your current enrollees taken care of, and free up time for fall sales at the same time!
More Intensive Sampling There’s always room to grow your current program. We’re seeing a significant number of the most progressive providers increasing the intensity and frequency of their program to better serve their growers. Moving to 2.5 Acre Grids or smaller, and from a 4-year to a 2-year sampling cycle is increasingly common to make the most of rapidly changing genetics and Ag Tech in the industry. If you’re thinking about making a change like this, work with your SoilView Area Manager as you plan. We can help make it happen smoothly and easily!
